　　每年的１２月５日是国际志愿人日。１９７０年联合国成立志愿人员组织并得到各国政府支持。为督促各国政府通过各种活动唤起更多的人以志愿者的身份，参加各行各业的服务性工作，宣传在社会服务中的献身精神，促进社会经济发展和国际交流，１９８５年联合国大会通过决议，确定从１９８６年起，每年的１２月５日为国际志愿人日。
